Robotic cells that are static or on wheels offer limited options for factories that want to automate a variety of intralogistics tasks, including machine tending.
Unlike robotic cell machine tending solutions, the autonomous ER-FLEX mobile collaborative robot can do more than load/unload materials and parts. It can:
collect materials from a designated area;
drive them to a machine where it processes them (such as deburring); and
deliver the semi-finished products to another workstation ready for the next stage of production.
All without the need for supervision.
This solution gives your workers the opportunity to use their valuable expertise on more complex tasks and increases your factory’s efficiency as it can run overnight in a loop sequence (24/7-365) for lights-out manufacturing.
The ER-FLEX integrated vision system for 2D object detection and template matching and automatic calibration to machine comes as standard.
For applications requiring 3D sensing capabilities, e.g., environments where items might not be in the exact same position every time, we recommend our 3D object detection and pose estimation package as an optional extra, which requires that we build a neural network (AI) with a Jetson on the robot.
Other options could include:
